EVERETT, WA – Are you looking for an excuse to get outdoors and start exploring? Curious about the many mushrooms in the parks and forests around us? Join Jeremy Collison, founder of Salish Mushrooms, for an introduction to mushrooming in the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday, April 13 at 6 p.m. at www.crowdcast.io/e/mushrooms.
Participants will learn the basics of mushrooming in the Pacific Northwest, find out about native mushrooms, review basic safety concerns, and learn how to identify mushrooms using the inaturalist.org website. This program is ideal for anyone interested in mushrooms. No mycology knowledge or previous foraging experience necessary.
Jeremy Collison founded Salish Mushrooms to share his love of mushrooms with the Pacific Northwest community. From the time that morels begin to appear in the spring, until the waning days of mushroom season in December, he can be found outside in search of interesting mushrooms. Collison grows and studies mushrooms in his home lab, hosts weekly community meetings through the Pacific Northwest Mushroom Meetup, offers guided foraging tours, and volunteers with his local mushroom club. Collison is a knowledgeable and passionate guide to the fascinating world of mushrooms all around us.
