Girls Who Code 3rd-5th Grade

Friday, May 26, 2023

Girls Who Code Clubs are spaces where girls can join a sisterhood of supportive peers and use computer science to change the world!

The Everett Public Library Girls Who clubs are starting Oct. 7th and will go through June 16th with breaks periodically. There will be two clubs that will meet on Fridays. 6th-12th grade at 3:30 PM and 3rd-5th grade at 4:45 PM.

The 3rd-5th grade club will learn the foundational skills and understanding of computer science concepts and sisterhood through a reading discussion and coding activities.

Our 6th-12th grade club will encourage girls to impact their communities in a positive way through code. In order to build the skills needed to make an impact, club members will learn how to code from fun online tutorials and activities that will help them build animations, games, apps, and other things they dream up! Available tutorials include Scratch, Python, Swift, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Once the registration form is filled out participants will receive a link to officially join GWC.

Club meetings will be virtual through Microsoft Teams and a  link will be provided.

Both clubs are open to all girls, nonbinary individuals, and those who support girls!
