On Saturday, January 1st, 1921, the Everett High School football team, under the guidance of Coach Enoch “Baggy” Bagshaw, captured the National High School Football Championship before a large, hometown crowd on Everett’s Athletic Field, now known as “Bagshaw Field.” Played on New Year’s Day, the victory was celebrated throughout Mill Town. Coach Bagshaw and his boys became the talk of the town - heralded as “The Pride of Washington.” Join us in celebrating the 100th Anniversary (1921-2021) of this exciting chapter in Everett’s sports history, as we step back in time to meet the coach and players who earned Everett High School the nickname, “the School of Champions.” Through actual photographs, you will have an opportunity to relive this Cinderella story.
