For children who can read independently. 

Information for Parents and Caregivers

  • Children’s Librarians will be visiting Everett schools May 28 – June 17.  

  • Each student will receive a folder, and can start recording what they read as of June 1.  

  • To register for the program, students must come into the library with their folder and fill out a registration card. 

  • If a student does not receive a folder at school, readers can pick up a folder and register at either library location starting June 9. 

Earning Prizes 
There are five fabulous prizes this year!
To earn each prize, readers fill in 20 lines on a reading sheet. 
One line equals one book or 30 minutes of reading, your choice. 

  • Children should read at their own reading level. 

  • Parent or caregiver must sign each reading log. 

Prize 1: Alfy’s Pizza coupon and a “Library Champion” yard sign
Prize 2: AquaSox ticket for August 28
Prize 3: Bug Catcher
Prize 4: Swim Pass for Forest Park Pool
Prize 5: A free book and an invitation to the Mayor’s Award on August 21

Mystery Prizes!
A different fun prize is available each week June 23-August 16, just for visiting the library! 

Read With Me
For babies and preschoolers who listen to books read to them. 

Two Fun Prizes! 

  • Read 30 books: Coupon for free ice cream cone from McDonald’s of Everett and a “Reading Champion” yard sign. 

  • Read 30 more books:  Ticket to the Imagine Children’s Museum.

After turning in your first reading log you can take home a LIBRARY CHAMPION sign to place in your front yard or window permitted there is no rules against this. 

  • Kids if you have your photo taken next to your sign and turn the photo into the Children's librarian we will display them in the library.
